The Korda Heli-Safe System is a helicopter rig component that allows the lead to be released when required, particularly in weedy or snaggy situations and when using chod rigs.
In lead-release mode, the spring-loaded mechanism releases the lead when the hooklink swivel pulls against the top of the Heli-Safe bead with sufficient pressure to activate it.
For lead retention, the Barrel Bead is inserted into the Heli-Safe mechanism to prevent it from opening under load, thereby disabling lead release.
Heli-Safe can be used with suitable leaders or naked setups, offering flexibility across different helicopter rig styles. Korda specifies compatible ring-swivel leaders from its Dark Matter and Kable Leadcore ranges, adapted to fit the Heli-Safe bead. It also works with Korda’s Leadcore Chod Safety and Naked Chod Safety systems.
